Trendspotting: Scrabble Tiles

Welcome to Monday! For some it’s a return to normalcy, for others it’s 5 days away from the next respite. For us today it’s a bit of daydreaming nostalgia memories of courting days and giggled battles over triple word scores and words that start with the letter Q. And I bet that’s been a big part of dating for a lot of you. There is a huge groundswell of crafts, ideas, inspirations and decorations based on Scrabble. The graphics of the tiles can be seen on everything from jewelry to bathroom floors to picture frames to mugs to…well, you get the idea. I think it’s partially that the tiles are so sleek and modern in appearance, yet still have a touch of the handmade. But mostly I think it’s the feeling. The feeling of closeness, of fun, of quiet nights disconnected from everything but the person across from you. And that makes it one of the most perfect wedding themes I’ve run across lately.

I haven’t played Scrabble since I was a kid, but years ago I bought up some games that were missing pieces here and there for art projects. So much you can do with them, really enjoy the oversized tile above!
